so i bought a bicycle. a folding bicycle. and i've been getting all these unsolicited comments. people across the street shouting "nice bike!" and the guy in blondie's around the corner wanting me to demonstrate how it folds and unfolds. i was happy to demonstrate. i'm happy, so happy, to be riding a bike again. it feels great. brooklyn has shrunk a little in exploratory ways.

well, apparently it's true! lupe is on her way to the conan o'brien studio right now… she will be appearing as a backing singer with feist... it airs tonight june 12 on nbc. i hope she can give tim russert hell for being a spineless hack. and pick up a few drumming tips from max weinberg. good luck lupe!

wow! it's so embarrasing to admit but i'd (mark) never been to the bowery ballroom before. call me reclusive if you want. but we played there last night with the clientele and beach house and in addition to being a great show by the aforementioned bands, the bowery ballroom sound people and staff were quite lovely. funny and nice and took care with the sound. and it sounded so good. probably the best sounding clientele show i've ever seen. yow.… Read More
