amor de días means a love of days. it's a nice way to pass the hours in between eating spoon sweets and filling the bird feeder with berry suet pellets. my family raised alarum when they thought the name was amor de dios. por dios! i haven't gone all gregorian. it's just a way of killing time in between organizing some sweet jumps for the freecycle bikes. and getting a lot of spanish guitars fixed. i brake for broken guitarritas. alasdair from the clientele and i have been recording some songs with lovely ken brake and his unsinkable vocal non-denominational choirs. we've sort of played two shows already with a little help from our friends (thanks nikolaj! thanks… Read More

this is a picture taken around kennington on a sunny day a few months ago. walking around, on one of those weekends when the victoria line was/is closed and you have to foot it to the next stop. all kinds of peculiar sights in that stretch between station and station – those beautiful brick churches showing off mirage like combinations of architectural styles, second hand shops where you can find daguerreotypes under piles of crap, and the endless cafes, for yesterday, today, tomorrow. the windows are steamed up, it's raining now, but there are blue bells in the woods; hope you have a great week of late april wandering! xolupe

amor de dias

04 Mar 2008 12:34 am 6

if there's one thing more exciting than guille in the eurovision song content, it is a band containing two of my favourite people and musical heroes... i present to you:

amor de dias featuring lupe núñez-fernández and alasdair maclean

both from bands you may have heard of... pipas & the clientele. :-) in my imagination they sound like caetano and gal - a south london domingo. and if you live in london or copenhagen you can even see them play live. and you are the luckiest people in the world. for not only do you get the aforementioned band, if you're in london you see and hear the return of the pines (yes, that pines, the pam and joe one) and… Read More

Forestry in our dreams.

When I miss London, I think about the forests, the woods that seem to change between each visit. Wild dogs, empty pools by the cemetery. And the trees. Once upon a time I joined a group that went around looking for the oldest tree tops, trying to discover the differences. I would go home and try to draw them but all that came out were these muddy rorschachey ink splotches. Now i look at the few that got scanned in while we were making sorry love and it's like pictures of our lost london. can't wait to find it again on 7 march! see you in the park. i really should start a band of rag tag tree explorers in… Read More
