..ok so i remembered what's happening tonight, even though i probably won't be able to make it over in time, it's The...Pains...Of...Being...Pure...At...Heart! at the betsey trotwood with a few other bands including The Parallelograms. In a few days we'll join a bunch of friends to sing a few songs and celebrate San, dear friend and fantastic drummer of the ladybug transistor. Tuesday 5 June at 8pm at Soundfix , 110 Bedford Avenue, Brooklyn, +1 718 388 8090. All proceeds from the night will go to San's wife Brigit and their son Liam. hope to see you all there!

the secret show last night at megamoog and mary's apartment up in sunset was really fun! thanks so much to them. megamoog had just played in new york a week or so ago and we'd missed it so it was wonderful to see her play *in her own apartment*! and you know, a house show is so refreshing after all our stadium gigs these days. you can actually see your audience. feel in touch. no stage. no boundaries. it's easier to heckle derrick from land of ill earthquakes. they did a bunch of different songs from the night before so that was exciting.

hello! we're working here in madrid. we've been eating lupe's masterful white bean spread. so garlic-y, so good. it's been powering our recording sessions the last couple of days. that and richard fleischer movies at the filmoteca. it's an amazing old cinema. a couple nights ago we saw orson welles embark on a 10 minute anti-capital punishment monologue in 'compulsion' (1959). incredible. also starring a very young dean stockwell. conferring afterwards, we concluded it was 'quantum leap' than brought dean stockwell into our lives. anything pre-that, we just didn't know. at least back then.
so the recording is going well. we hope to have something out later this year. the pop fest in new york around may 25 or so will… Read More

so we got our show in brooklyn on october 26th! it's gonna be fun! i just bought another electric guitar so it will be pipas goes all electric. no more of that acoustic rubbish. :-) we will be accompanied by the ballet & oppenheimer. i just saw the ballet a few weeks ago opening for flin flon and they were really great. not sure what, if any, other new york shows we'll be playing so you'd better get to this one!
